Hebrew School

Grades 3-7 attend Hebrew and Religious school on Sunday morning. A consecration ceremony is held in the fall to acknowledge this next stage in Jewish education of these students. Concepts introduced at k’tanim and primary grades are further developed. Students study the Hebrew Bible, the significance and structure of communal prayer, and acts of g’milut chasadim (“loving kindness”). Formal prayers are now learned and practiced in preparation for their bar/bat mitzvah celebration and, ultimately, for their adult Jewish life.

Please contact our education director, Marla Topp, for more information about the school at 847-676-1566, extension 108, or at mtopp@templejm.org.
